Obituary for Gerard James Jacobs
Gerard James Jacobs – Age 22, died Friday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Lawrence, July 25, 1989, beloved son of George W. and Susan K. (Knightly) Jacobs and resided in Billerica all of his life. Mr. Jacobs attended Billerica schools having graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 2007. He was the captain of the hockey team and was named Most Valuable Player his senior year and he also played lacrosse. He graduated from Plymouth State College with a degree in business administration in the spring having made the dean’s list his final semester. He most recently was employed for Mark’s Moving and Storage in Westborough. Besides his parents, Mr. Jacobs is survived by his brothers and best friends, Vincent and Franklin Jacobs of Billerica, his paternal grandparents, James Gerard Jacobs and Mary Lou Jacobs of Waltham, his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Knightly of Lawrence and was the grandson of the late Joseph Knightly. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. JACOBS – Of Billerica, by accident, Sept. 23, Gerard James Jacobs, Visiting hours will be held Monday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gerard’s name to the Billerica Scholarship Foundation, c/o Town of Billerica Treasurer’s Office, 365 Boston Rd., Billerica, MA 01821. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
