Gerard I. Corso, age 81, beloved husband of Theresa M. (Cedrone) Corso, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born in Winthrop on July 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Ignatius and Katherine (Zuccala) Corso and the brother of the late Dennis Corso. Gerard was raised in Arlington, later lived in Brighton, and made his home in Billerica beginning in 1970.
Gerard was a graduate of Bentley College with a degree in accounting. Recently, he spent 11 cherished years serving as a crossing guard for the Town of Billerica, working at both the High School and the Parker School - a role he truly loved. He was an avid follower of horse racing and a lifelong, devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves.
In addition to his wife, Gerard is survived by his son, Gerard Corso Jr., and his wife Lainie Kerkian Corso of Chelmsford; his daughter, Pamela Cox, and her husband David of Bedford; his granddaughter, Winter Cox, who brought him immense joy, and his brother in law Joseph Cedrone.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 460 Boston Road, Billerica. Burial at Calvary Cemetery will be private.
