Obituary for George Tsoukalas Sr.
George Tsoukalas Sr., age 80, beloved husband of 51 years of Lorelei I. (DiRusso) Tsoukalas died Monday at Winchester Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Brighton, August 13, 1934, a son of the late John and Anastasia (Adamakis) Tsoukalas and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica in 1963. Mr. Tsoukalas graduated from Somerville High School in 1953, served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a Conductor for B&M Railroad for 42 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, George Tsoukalas Jr. and his wife Jaime of Harwich. Mark Tsoukalas and his wife Nicole and Greg Tsoukalas and his wife Jessica all of Billerica; two daughters, Donna Tsoukalas and Joanne DiDonna and her husband Ray all of Billerica; three brothers, Anthony Tsoukalas of Melrose, Charles Tsoukalas and his wife Kathy of Stoneham and Peter Tsoukalas of Medford; one sister, Diane O’Loughlin and her husband Frank of TX; 14 grandchildren, Derick, Natalie, Andrew, Caitlyn, Olivia, Dominic, Christina, Tyler and Peyton Tsoukalas, Mike Belding, Danielle and Melissa Shea and Nick and Matt DiDonna as well as two great-grandchildren. TSOUKALAS – Of Billerica, formerly of Somerville, Dec. 8, George Tsoukalas. Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave., Woburn, MA at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
