Obituary for Gaspare J. 'Joe' Lentine
Gaspare J. “Joe” Lentine, age 90, beloved husband of the late Marie E. (Vinagro) Lentine died Thursday at the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford to whom his family would like to extend their thanks for their care and compassion while he was there. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, November 1, 1924, a son of the late Salvatore and Antonetta (Signorelli) Lentine and lived in Winchester before moving to Billerica in 1962. Mr. Lentine served as a Combat Medic in the US Army during WW II where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Prior to his retirement he was employed by General Motors for 30 years and was a member of the Winchester Sons of Italy. He is survived by one son, Stephen Lentine and his wife Maryanne of Billerica; one daughter, Lorraine Lentine-McConnon and her husband Thomas McConnon of Billerica; one Brother, Frank Lentine of Danvers as well as three grandchildren, Brian, Scott and Keith Lentine. He was the brother of the late Anthony, Andrew, Paul and Mario Lentine, Betty Sgroi and Josephine Sarapina. LENTINE – Of Billerica, formerly of Winchester, May 14, Gaspare J. “Joe” Lentine. Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Billerica at 9:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 5 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854 Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
