Obituary for Gary R. Davis
Gary R. Davis – Age 59, beloved husband of 37 years of Nancy (Brown) Davis died Saturday at their home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arlington, July 12, 1954, the son of Warren and Evelyn ( Bamberg ) Davis of Tenants Harbor, ME. He was a resident of Billerica his entire life and attended Keith Academy and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1972 and later attended Lowell State . He was a Past Master Counselor of Billerica DeMolay, a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks #2071 and the Thomas Talbot Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Billerica. Along with his wife Nancy they enjoyed summers on Lake Winnipesaukee , he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing Dominos, traveling and spending time with his numerous nieces and nephews. He was employed as a Signal Engineer for the MBTA and was involved in the railroad industry for 38 years. Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Davis is survived by his brothers, Warren Davis and his wife Jane of Tyngsboro, Ralph Davis and his wife Barbara of Tewksbury, Stanley Davis and his wife Marcia of Woburn, Charles Davis of Concord , NH , Russell Davis and his wife Marie of N. Billerica and Stephen Davis of Waldoboro, ME; his sisters, Nancy Wells and her husband Donald of St. Albans, VT, Nina McEwen and her husband William of Stewartsville, NJ and Laura Wiley and her husband Preston of Tenants Harbor, ME; his brothers-in-law, Robert Brown of N. Billerica and James Brown of N. Chelmsford; his sister-in-law, Mary Brown of Lowell and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother-in-law of the late Susan Brown and son-in-law of the late Herbert and Marjorie Brown. DAVIS – Of N. Billerica, Nov. 16, Gary R. Davis, Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral service will be held at St. Anne’s Church, 14 Treble Cove Rd. , Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 . Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
