Fredric A. "Fred" Moore, a longtime North Billerica resident, passed away on July 9 from complications related to his stoic two-year battle with esophageal cancer.
Born on January 20, 1958 he is predeceased by his parents David C. Moore and Dawn L. (Wheaton) Moore, and father-in-law Peter J. Flaherty. Fred was raised in Woburn and was a 1976 graduate of Woburn Senior High School.
Prior to her death in 2019, he shared 38 years of marriage with his soulmate, Anne T. (Flaherty) Moore. They enjoyed many trips together, especially to Ireland, but were never more content than unwinding together at home.
Fred's devotion to his grandchildren was unmatched - he is forever the beloved "Grampy" of Felix, Rory, Delia, Charlotte and Ada.
His illness forced an end to his long tenure as a produce department manager with Hannaford Bros., most recently in Chelmsford. Previously, he had worked for many years in the same role at the former Purity Supreme and Victory supermarket chains.
In addition to his grandchildren, Fred is survived by his sons: Kevin and his wife Danielle of Foxborough; Michael and his wife Sierra Calla of Lowell; and Matthew and his wife Meaghan of Hudson, MA. He is also survived by his siblings: David and his wife Joan of Chester, NH; James of Burlington; Beth of Burlington; Peter and his wife Alicia of Fremont, NH; and Lynne Valante and her husband Glen of Westford. He will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. He was the cherished son-in-law of Ellen T. (Barry) Flaherty of Woburn.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, July 20 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank: https://mvfb.org
