Obituary for Francis X. Peters
Francis X. Peters - Age 84, beloved husband of Mary F. (Curtin) Peters died Wednesday at Paradise Village Assisted Living in San Diego, CA.
He was born in Medford, March 10, 1927, the son of the late Clarence J. and Hannah L. (Curtin) Peters. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and then received his Bachelors Degree from UMass Amherst. Mr. Peters worked for the B & M Railroad having retired after 35 years as the Director of Real Estate and Industrial Development.
Mr. Peters was a native of Wilmington where he attended public schools. A devoted father, he raised his family in Billerica and spent the summers at their home in Northwood, NH and winters in Palmetto, FL before most recently moving to California.
Besides his wife, Mr. Peters is survived by his daughters, Mary Mulligan and her husband Len of Buxton, ME, Kathleen Doctor and her husband Louis of Portland, OR and Maureen Ferreira and her husband Andrew of San Diego, CA; his sons, Francis X Peters Jr. and his wife Barbara of Corona del Mar, CA and Eric Peters and his wife Eileen of Newport Coast, CA; his sister, Cynthia Rossi of Laconia NH and is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including Karen Johnson of Westford. Mr. Peters was the father of the late Charles Peters and the brother of the late Clarence, Robert and William Peters and Judith McCarthy.
PETERS - Formerly of Billerica, July 27, Francis X Peters, His funeral will be held Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church, 470 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th St., 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022 or at bcrfcure.org. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
