Obituary for Francis J. Maguire Sr.
BILLERICA - Francis J. "Mac" Maguire Sr., age 81, husband of Bernadette (Anderson) Maguire died Sunday at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Cambridge, March 10, 1929 a son of the late Francis and Mary (Jones) Maguire and has been a Billerica resident since 1969.
Mr. Maguire was a 20 year veteran US Air Force serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and attained the rank of MSGT.
After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at Raytheon for 25 years as a Logistics Engineer and most recently was a crossing guard for the Town of Billerica at the Marshall School where he was loved by the staff, students and their parents.
Mr. Maguire was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Wrenn Council #3963 in Billerica.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Francis J. Maguire Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Hudson, NH; seven daughters, Patricia Powderly and her husband Daniel of Billerica, Denise Adams and her husband Charles of Billerica, Mary Kiriakakos and her husband William of Nashua, Sharon McPadden and Tim Davis of Woburn, Lisa Strazzere and her husband William of Billerica, Kathleen Capraro and her husband Joseph of Billerica and Margaret "Peggy" Randell and her husband Alan of Hampstead, NH; one brother, Gerard Maguire of Weymouth; two sisters, Margaret McIvor of FL and Susan Maguire of Winthrop; 22 grandchildren, Eddie, Steven, Julie, Jeff , Tim, Dan, Michael, Kelley, Nicholas, & Andrew, Christopher, David , Jamie, Megan, Ryan, Shawna, Scott, Brandon, Bailey, Josh, Jake, Jill as well as 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas Maguire and Claire Norton and Great-Grandfather of the late Hannah Tage Mattson.
MAGUIRE - Of Billerica, Nov. 21, Francis J. "Mac" Maguire Sr. Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
