Obituary for Fernando M. "Freddy" Correia
BILLERICA – Fernando M. “Freddy” Correia, age 49, beloved husband of Jennifer (Persson) Correia died Monday at their home with his family by his side.
He was born in Boston, November 14, 1972, a son of the Maria (Rodrigues) Correia and the late Fernando M. Correia and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica over 20 years ago.
Prior to his illness, Freddy was employed as an automotive paint specialist with Today’s Auto Body in Malden and in his spare time enjoyed vacationing with family especially in Florida and Maine. He will forever be remembered as DJ Freddy C with his passion and love for music and a devoted, loving dad who went to every one of his daughters meets. Freddy was truly one of a kind and he will never be forgotten.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Julianna, Kaylee and Isla; two sisters, Helena Correia and Linda Pimentel both of Billerica; one brother Mariano Correia of ME as well as his nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Philip Correia.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1 – 4 p.m. A Celebration of Freddy’s life will also be held Sunday, February 27, at the American Legion, 162 Winn St, Burlington from 12-4. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lung Cancer research and or the Correia girls’ college fund (More information and address will be forthcoming)
