Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother
Evelyn Elizabeth Davis passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016. She was born on February 7, 1923 to Ethel and Henry Bamberg. She lived in Burlington, Massachusetts and on July 31, 1942 married her high school sweetheart, Warren Russell Davis. They spent almost 73 years together raising 10 children in Billerica and then moving to Tenants Harbor, Maine, enjoying 32 years retirement on the shores of the St. George River.
Evelyn was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and love her. She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, and tend her flowers. Each year at Christmas the family looked forward to her delicious peanut butter balls and pineapple squares and her special homemade ornaments for their trees.
Evelyn is survived by her husband and nine of her children and spouses: Warren Davis and wife Jane of Tyngsboro; Nancy Wells and husband Donald of St. Albans, VT; Ralph Davis and wife Barbara of Tewksbury; Stanley Davis and wife Marcia of Woburn; Charles Davis of Kissimmee, FL, Nina McEwen and husband William of Stewartsville, NJ; Nancy (Brown) Davis of No. Billerica; Russell Davis and wife Marie of No. Billerica; Laura Wiley and husband Preston of Tenants Harbor, ME; and Stephen Davis of Waldoboro, ME. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren with the twentieth expected in October. She was predeceased by her son Gary Davis of No. Billerica.
DAVIS - Of Maine, formerly of Billerica, Evelyn E. Davis. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 9 at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 2 P.M. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
