Obituary for Evelyn A. Tufts
Evelyn A. Tufts – Age 82, of Goffstown, NH, formerly of Nashua, NH and long time resident of Billerica for 38 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday after a long hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s.
Evelyn was born in Boston, January 12, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Lucy (Finney) Gallagher. She married her husband Anthony Tufts of 63 years on May 17, 1953.
Evelyn’s life focused on raising her six children while she and her husband traveled around the world while he served his country in the Army. She will be fondly remembered for her loving nature, devotion to her family and colorful personality.
Evelyn was predeceased by her daughter Debbie Tufts who passed away on March 4, 2017. She is survived by her husband Anthony and children, Cheryl and Max Barnes of Fredericksburg, VA, Linda and John Marino of Nashua, NH, Jeffrey Tufts of Goffstown, John and Deborah Tufts of Haverhill and Robin and Stephen Munroe of Hudson, NH; 13 grandchildren, John, Michael, Christina, Anthony, Charles, Jennifer, Ryan, Kelly, Benjamin, Connor, Jason, Trevor and Austin; 6 great grandchildren, Memo, Logan, Hayden, Mathew, Katie and Jasmine; her brother, Albert Gallagher of Salem and many nieces and nephews.
TUFTS – Of Goffstown, NH, formerly of Nashua and Billerica, March 9, Evelyn A. Tufts, A visitation will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
