Obituary for Esther Horne
Esther Horne (McGinnis) – Age 94, formerly of Arlington and Billerica. She past away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday morning, December 28, 2017 at home. She was the wife of the late Frederick A. Horne.
She was born in Lowell, MA to the late Arthur and Catherine (Lane) McGinnis. She spent her first 32 years of her life in her beloved Billerica, MA. After marrying she moved to Cambridge and then to Arlington where she raised her children. She was a resident of Arlington for five decades before relocating to Florida.
Esther enjoyed her home, gardening and spending time with her family.
The family thanks Esther's long time friends and neighbors, the Ronayne family and also her caretaker Cynthia Befumo.
She is survived by her children Patricia Horne-Carpenter and her husband Howard Carpenter III of Citrus Hills, FL, Edward C. Horne of Punta Gorda, FL, and Robert B. Horne of Florida. She is also survived by her sister in laws Celine Casey and Mary LaRose, both of Arlington. Also her brother in law Arthur Horne and wife Joan Horne of Burlington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass in celebration of Esther’s life at St. Mary Catholic Church, 796 Boston Rd, Billerica, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 9 am. Internment will be held at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd, Billerica. Followed by brunch at the Country Club of Billerica, 51 Baldwin Rd, Billerica.
