Obituary for Ernest "Jerry" G. Forte
Ernest “Jerry” G. Forte – beloved husband of Betsy (Delgado) Forte died Tuesday at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington after a brief illness.
He was born in Boston, March 9, 1943, a son of the late Rosato and Inez (Tarquini) Forte and was raised in Boston and moved to Billerica 40 years ago.
Jerry was employed as an Auditor for the State of MA for over 20 years prior to his retirement. He was a former Golden Gloves Boxer having been a Golden Gloves Champion NEAU and Diamond Belt Champion. He was the recipient of the Ring 4 All Time Amateur Boxing Champion Cup and was inducted into the Ring 4 Hall of Fame in 1995. He also served as Deputy Boxing Commissioner and a Boxing Judge.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christina Forte-Maragioglio of Billerica; his grandchildren, Giana and Lorenzo Maragioglio and his brother, Robert Forte of FL.
A visitation will be held Tuesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at St. Michael Cemetery, Walk Hill St., Boston at 12 noon.
