Emily E. Howser – age 93, wife of the late Donald G. Howser died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Waltham, November 11, 1931, the daughter of the late Anton and Mary E. (McCullah) Streitmater and was a Billerica resident for most of her life.
For many years, Emily was employed as an Executive Assistant for the former Purity Supreme Supermarket. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and camping. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively and dancing with the Red Hot Squares, a square dancing club. She was also an avid quilter, a passion she passed to two generations of women in her family, and made many quilts for charity with the Burlington Senior Center Quilt group.
She is survived by her daughters Diana Foster (David) of Northwood, NH, Rena Scott (Alec) of Bushnell, FL, Anne Howser of Billerica and her son Lawrence Howser (Jo) of Wales, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Douglas K. Howser and sister of the late Kirk Streitmater.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at St Mark’s Episcopal Church, 10 St Mark’s Rd Burlington at 1 p.m. Her burial will take place at a later date at the North Cemetery in North Billerica.
