Obituary for Elsie I. Allen
Elsie I. Allen – Age 93, wife of the late George “Tom” Allen Sr. died Friday at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, August 14, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late William F. and Blanche (Pringle) Griffin and lived in Wakefield, Massachusetts before moving to Billerica in 1946.
Mrs. Allen was employed as a Supervisor at Macom having retired in 1990. She was an active member of the Community Congregational Church in Pinehurst and was a former member of their Fireside Group.
Among Elsie's greatest pleasures was spending time with her family. She was an avid sports fan and loved entertaining and cooking for her family. She will always be remembered for her generosity and kindness to others.
She is survived by her beloved family, Suzanne Bonenfant and her husband Edward of Westford, Martha Chase and her husband James of Dracut and Ruthanne Bossi and her husband Anthony of Billerica; her sons, Gary Allen and his wife Ellen of Billerica and George T. Allen Jr. and his wife Suzan also of Billerica; her grandchildren, Michael Bonenfant and his wife Michele, Michelle Schoenfeld and her husband Ken, Jill Clancy and her husband Joe, Anthony Bossi and his wife Molly, Jenniffer McCaffrey and her husband Tom, Thomas Allen and his wife Katie, Kory Allen, Ryan Allen and his wife Brittany, Kaitlin Garofano and her husband Troy and Jeffrey Allen and is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
ALLEN – Of Billerica, Oct. 14, Elsie I. (Griffin) Allen, A visitation will be held Tuesday at the Community Congregational Church, 803 Boston Rd., Billerica from 9:30-11 a.m. with a service to be held at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Congregational Church, 803 Boston Rd., Billerica, MA 01821. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Followed by a celebration of her life at The Billerica Country Club.
