Elizabeth Lee “Betty” Butcher, age 72, longtime companion of Eugene DiFrancesco, died Saturday January 24, 2026 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston after a period of declining health with her family by her side.
She was born in Stoughton, WI a daughter of the late Robert C. and Helen (Spinhirne) Murphy and has been a longtime Billerica resident.
Betty worked for a period of time as a secretary for MetLife and more recently as a clerk for Market Basket.
Besides her longtime companion she is survived by one daughter, Courtney Butcher of Lowell; two sisters, Cheryl Cagnina and Kathy Murphy both of Woburn as well as her beloved grandchildren, Natalia, Francesca, D’Andre and Marvin Jr. “ Peanut”.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2 – 5 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
