Obituary for Elizabeth A. Re
BILLERICA - Elizabeth M. (Daigle) Re, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully the morning of August 16, 2014. Elizabeth was born on January 30, 1921 in Canada to the late Lucien and Alphonsine Daigle, and moved to Lyndonville, Vermont with her family as a young child. At the age of 21, Elizabeth moved to the Boston area, and later made her home with her family in the Pinehurst section of Billerica, MA where she lived the rest of her life. Elizabeth was a long time employee of BayBank Middlesex in Billerica, MA until her retirement. Elizabeth was a prolific, award-winning quilter. Her masterful designs are the prized possessions of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she created beautiful stained glass designs, crocheted lace and hand sewn wool rugs. Elizabeth was devoted to her family and loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by her children, grandchildren and later in life her great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her brother, Arthur Daigle, loving husband John Re, her youngest son Joseph Re, and her granddaughters Michelle Re, Maresa Carter and Christine Greer. She is survived and will be missed by her daughter Marie Heath and her husband Raymond of Waterford, VT; son John Re and his wife, Martha, of Newport VT; daughter Theresa Clery and her husband Michael, Jr. of Billerica, MA; daughter Christine Drown and her husband Bruce of Lyndon Center, VT; and her daughter-in-law Linda Re of Pepperell, MA. In addition Elizabeth was Grammy to many grandchildren and Great-Grammy to their children. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, it was Elizabeth’s wish that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265
