Elizabeth A. Calder (Betty Ann) – Age 73, of Billerica, beloved and cherished wife of Walter R. Calder died peacefully Tuesday, December 13, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
She was born in Chelsea, April 14, 1949, daughter of the late Dominic Benedetto and Mary (Dowling) Benedetto and was raised in Malden before moving to Arlington, Woburn and then Billerica 27 years ago.
Betty Ann was a selfless person who loved her family dearly. She opened her heart and home to everyone unconditionally. Everyone was welcome and never treated as a stranger. She was known as “Mom” not only to her children but to anyone who needed support, guidance, or the love only a mom can provide.
She was formerly employed as a Manager at the Burlington Coat Factory in Billerica. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Billerica Elks where she made many longtime friends. She was also an avid reader.
She was the loving mother of Christine Napolitano and Tracy Allen Calder both of Billerica, Michael Spinelli and his wife, Jennifer of St. Augustine, FL, Malissa Morris and her husband, Rob of Billerica, Dominic Calder and his wife, Diane of Saugus, Anthony Calder of Nashua, NH, and her stepson Paul Calder of Pelham, NH. Sister of Phyllis McElroy of Everett, Candy DiChiara of Lynn, and was also the sister of the late Tommy and Jimmy Benedetto. She adored her 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
