Obituary for Eleanor F. Melendy
Eleanor F. (Schaffer) Melendy- Age 82, of Billerica died Thursday, December 19, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Alfred B. Melendy of Billerica. She was born February 17, 1931 in Belmont, MA the daughter of the late Francis P. and Margaret (McGlory) Schaffer. She was raised in the Medford area before moving to Billerica 61 years ago. Mrs. Melendy was employed with the family HVAC business, Melendy & Sons Inc. as the Office Administrator. Besides her loving husband, Alfred, she is survived by two sons, Frank Melendy of Pepperell and Billy Melendy of FL; three daughters, Edie Brigham of Whitingham, VT, Kim Stevens of Oxford and Linda Tessman; her brother, George Schaffer of MN; her sister, Grace Schaffer of Medford as well as fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. MELENDY – Of Billerica, Dec. 19, Eleanor (Schaffer) Melendy. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Billerica Lions Club, P.O. Box 5245. Billerica, MA 01821. It being her wish there will be no calling hours.
