Obituary for Eleanor C. Witmyer

Eleanor C. (Breen) Witmyer - age 101, of Billerica and beloved wife of the late Willyce M. Witmyer; died peacefully on Wednesday, December 3rd at Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelmsford.


Born in Boston on April 9, 1924, Eleanor was a daughter of the late Esther (McCanne) Breen. She resided in Newton in her younger years before moving to Billerica in 1958. She was a long-time member of both the Red Hat Society and the Senior Center in Billerica. In addition, she had a love for dancing and was a huge Elvis fan.


Eleanor is survived by her son, Jeffrey W. Witmyer, and his wife Donna of Billerica; her grandchildren, Leigh, and her husband Chris, and Renee, and her partner Mark; her great-grandchildren, Courtney, C.J., and his wife Francesca, Crystal, and her husband Derek; and her great-great-grandchild Jack. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Gayle, Bobby, Jill, Sean, Daniel, Sarah, Desiree, Tayajana, Lexus, P.J., Jovaughn, Jordan; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.


In addition to her husband and her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her brother, David Hutchinson who is survived by his wife Alma, and her step-grandson, Michael.


A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish, at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Perkins School For The Blind at www.perkins.org.
