Elaine C. Nazzaro – Age 90, wife of the late Frank Nazzaro died peacefully Tuesday, September 19 with her loving children and grandchildren at her side.
She was born in E. Boston, March 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Digirolamo) Gillen and lived in E. Boston for many years before moving to Billerica Housing Authority 20 years ago, where she made many friends, who she enjoyed playing trivia, having lunches together, sing alongs and more.
Elaine was employed at the former Filene’s Basement in Boston prior to her retirement. In more recent years when she was in need of assistance she had many caregivers and homemakers who treated her like family and became friends. We are forever grateful to them. She also loved watching her game shows, drinking her coffee, and listening to her music, especially Tom Jones. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen Nazzaro of Billerica and Brian Nazzaro and his wife Nancy of N. Reading; her daughters, Patricia Lascola of Billerica, Francine Hoffman of Bedford and Andrea Hinchliffe and her husband William of Billerica; her sister, Kathie Lanney of Saugus and is also survived by her eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Robert Gillen, Maryanne Campbell and Irene Shikles.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, September 24 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
