Obituary for Edward F. Burke

Edward F. Burke – Age 90, husband of the late Virginia M. (Hennigan) Burke died Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Life Care of Merrimack Valley in N. Billerica.


He was born in Boston, October 3, 1932, a son of the late Edward F. and Anna (Burns) Burke and was raised in Medford before moving to Billerica 62 years ago. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.


Ed was employed for United Airlines in Ramp Services for 42 years prior to his retirement. He was a former President of IAM Local Lodge #1726 for 25 years, a member of the Greater Boston Labor Council and the New England Machinist Union.


He is survived by his daughters, MaryAnn Richard and her husband Steve, Cindy Gallant, Kelly Boermeester and her husband Mark and Ellen Beaudry and her husband Barry all of Billerica, Teresa Baird and her husband Dave of Blacklick, OH, Virginia Deluca and her husband Dave of Warwick, RI; his son, Sean Burke and his wife Roberta of Townsend and is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late AnnMarie Robinson.


A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 7 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. His burial with military honors will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Billerica Council on Aging, 25 Concord Rd., Billerica, MA 01821.
