Edward A. Bunker – age 87, beloved husband of Maybelle “Kitty” (Gould) Bunker died peacefully Wednesday, April 23 at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus.
He was born in Lowell, March 8, 1938, a son of the late Allen H. and Lena M. (Indella) Bunker and has lived in Billerica all of his life.
Ed was employed at Polaroid for 19 years. An Engineer at heart, he always had a project in-process, or an idea that he was researching and loved sharing new and interesting information that he found. He was passionate about Billerica wetlands protection and during his life was active on many town boards and committees.
He is survived by his children, Sharon Flanders and her husband Jerry of Amherst, NH, E. Scott Vaillancourt and his wife Hope of Kyle, TX, Michael St-Jean of Medford, and his wife Sylvie, Steven St-Jean of Holden, Yvonne Hemingway and her husband Paul of Leominster, Dianne Walker and her husband Chuck of Myrtle Beach, SC and Susan Richard and her husband Warren of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald St-Jean. He was grandfather to the late Taylor Vaillancourt and the brother of the late Doris McGrath, Allen Bunker and Joyce Passalaqua.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Lowell General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. A private graveside service will be held at the Green Cemetery in Carlisle.
There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends at Stelios Family Restaurant, 293 Boston Road, Billerica, MA on May 10th at 11am. Please join us to share your memories of Ed.
