Obituary for Edward C. Michalski
Edward C. Michalski – Of Billerica, August 23, husband of the late Margaret R. (Clancy) Michalski passed away peacefully after a determined fight with Parkinson’s Disease for over 20 years.
He was born in Boston, September 14, 1934, a son of the late Walter and Katherine (Songailo) Michalski. He grew up in Charlestown and attended St. Francis De’Sales Grammar School and graduated from Commerce High School. Eddie played football for the Charlestown Townies before entering the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He later moved to Woburn and then to Billerica in 1978.
He was a Lifetime member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks #2071 and was a former employee of the MBTA until his retirement in 1994. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them play their sports. He was their biggest fan!
Eddie is survived by his three daughters, Mary-Beth Michalski, Ann-Marie Tamis and her husband Dennis and Paula Michalski all of Billerica; his sister, Joan Butler of Woburn; his grandchildren, Brandon and Courtney O’Donnell and Troy and Talia Tamis. He was the brother of the late Leonard and Dorothy Michalski.
His funeral will be held Monday from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
