Obituary for Earle F. Merrow
BILLERICA – Earle F. Merrow, age 94, husband of the late Valti L. (McDougal) Merrow died Tuesday at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell after a brief illness. He was born in Sangerville, Maine April 1, 1917 a son of the late George F. Sr. and Bertha (Johnson) Merrow and lived in Waltham prior to moving to Billerica in 1954. Mr. Merrow was a Patent Draftsman for Raytheon in the Waltham and Lexington offices for 35 years and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Billerica where he was a former Deacon. He was Billerica’s Oldest Boy Scout, was the former leader of Troop 55 and was active in the Billerica Senior Center as well as being involved with arts and crafts and the Bennett Library, worked the polls at the Kennedy School for many years and was involved in the Billerica Little League. He is survived by one son, Steven Merrow and his wife Bernadette of Dunstable; two daughters, Joan Stickney and her husband Bob Sr. of Billerica and Susan Roy and her fiancée Conrad Anctil all of Billerica; one brother George Merrow of ME and Leila Lowell of ME. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson as well as many friends. He was also the brother of the late Schylar Merrow and Vivian Cookson. MERROW – Of Billerica, formerly of Waltham, August 9, Earle F. Merrow. Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica 01821 or the Boy Scouts of America, Yankee Clipper Council, 36 Amesbury Rd., Haverhill, MA 01830.
