Obituary for Dorothy M. Ward
BILLERICA - Dorothy M. (Calthorpe) Ward, age 80, a 50 year resident of Billerica, wife of the late Raymond J. Ward died Tuesday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was an avid bridge player, a prolific reader and an accomplished square dancer who also enjoyed mountain climbing and cross country skiing in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
She was born in Cambridge, January 12, 1930, daughter of the late William and Eileen Grace (Murphy) Calthorpe and lived in Belmont prior to moving to Billerica 51 years ago.
Mrs. Ward was employed as a RN for McLean Hospital in Belmont for many years.
She is survived by five sons, Steven & Teresa O'Hara of FL, Paul O'Hara of Newbury, Daniel O'Hara and Jane Jakuc of Harvard, John O'Hara of Westford and Andrew 'Hara of NH; one brother William Calthorpe and his wife Mona of Palmetto, FL as well as six grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
WARD - Of Billerica, formerly of Belmont, July13, Dorothy M. (Calthorpe) Ward. Visiting hours will be held Friday in the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
