Obituary for Dorothy M. Turco

BILLERICA - Dorothy M. (Fletcher) Turco R.N., age 81, wife of the late Rosario "Roy" Turco died Saturday at the Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Troy, NY, September 9, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Lotta (Herbeck) Latham and lived in Athol, prior to moving to Billerica in 1945.

In her early years Dorothy was a lifeguard and swim instructor in Athol, MA. She later became an RN and worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford, MA .Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a nurse in the Billerica School System for 18 years.

Mrs. Turco was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Billerica, MA. While she loved traveling with her husband and her weekly family breakfasts, she also enjoyed Bingo, tracing her genealogy, and dining out with the red hats. Dorothy would have turned 82 on Sept 9th.

She is survived by four sons, Daniel Turco of Andover, John Turco and his wife Colleen of Chelmsford, Tom Turco and his wife Diane of Harwich and Lou Turco of Pelham, NH; one daughter, Jean Buckland and her husband William of Billerica; 10 grandchildren, Damian, Andrew, Matthew, Kara, Emily, Justin and Brian Turco, Catherine Bernier, Kristen and Ashley Buckland and one great-granddaughter Bianca Turco.


TURCO - Of Billerica, formerly of Athol, Aug. 22, Dorothy M. Turco R.N. wife of the late Rosario "Roy" Turco. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 - 8 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica
