Obituary for Dorothy A. Richard
Dorothy A. Richard, wife of the late Conrad A. Richard Jr., died peacefully at the age of 87, on Saturday, April 16, at the Nevins Nursing and Rehab Center in Methuen.
Born in Peabody, MA on January 13, 1935, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John A. and Mary R. (Doucette) Muse. She grew up in Peabody and moved to Billerica in 1967 where she and her husband raised their five sons. Dorothy resided at the Arbors in Dracut for the final few years of her life.
After raising her children, Dorothy worked in the electronics semiconductor industry to support her family, eventually retiring from her position of Supervisor at Varian in Gloucester. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and creating amazingly beautiful cross-stitch pictures.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Steven Richard and his wife MaryAnn of Billerica, Glenn Richard of Anchorage, AK, Kenneth Richard and his wife, Suzan Warford of Dracut, Mark Richard and his girlfriend, Lisa Boisvert of Manchester, NH and Bryan Richard and his wife Susan of Groton; her siblings, Betty Inman, Marge Conroy, Tom Muse, and Dave Muse of Peabody, Mary Fawcette, Jean Russo, Sally Henry and Patti Savory of Danvers, Carol Stone of Hollis, NH and her half siblings, Cathy Earley and John Muse of Charlotte, NC and Patty Roix of Nottingham, NH. Dorothy is also survived by her 13 cherished grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dorothy’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dorothy’s long-time caregiver and friend Renee Clark. Dorothy was predeceased by three of her siblings Jack and Bob Muse and Kathy Livingstone.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 21 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
