Dominic M. Cafarella – Age 81, beloved husband of Deborah (Whitten) Cafarella died peacefully Tuesday, November 14 at Care One in Lexington.
He was born in Waltham, February 3, 1942, a son of the late Thomas and Winifred (Hannon) Cafarella and lived in Watertown for many years before moving to Florida for 20 years and then Billerica. Dominic proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office in Marlborough and later worked for the YMCA in Stuart, Florida.
Besides his wife, Dominic is survived by his sons, Donald Cafarella of Meredith, NH, Scott Cafarella of Westminster, Paul Cowing of Belmont and Thomas Huff of Billerica; his daughters, Krystal Holt of Holden and Alicia Mitchell of Rivera Beach, FL; his brothers, Thomas Cafarella of Port St. Lucie, FL and Ronald Cafarella of Belmont; his sister, Katherine Tusini of Stratham, NH and is also survived by his ten grandchildren, one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Cameron Cross.
A graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 20 at Mt. Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect St., Waltham at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Dominic’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
