Obituary for Dewey C. Phillips
BILLERICA – Dewey C. Phillips, age 87, husband of the late Pauline M. (Grace) Phillips died Monday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Huntington Park, CA, Sept. 15, 1926, the son of the late Dewey M. and Leola (Fleck) Phillips, was raised in California before beginning his 30 year career in the Navy and moving to Billerica in 1968. After retiring from the Navy Mr. Phillips began his second career as a Sr. Equipment Installer for Western Union for 20 years and was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks, the Tewksbury Rod and Gun Club, as well as the Tewksbury DAV and VFW. He is survived by one son, David Phillips of Chelmsford; two daughters, Paula Maynard and Linda Chartrand both of Billerica as well as six grandchildren, Paula Maynard Jr., Michael Maynard, Crystal Murphy, Nicholas Maynard, David Chartrand and Danielle Chartrand and 12 great-grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Richard A. Maynard III PHILLIPS – Of Billerica, Dewey C. Phillips, Jan. 6. A funeral service will be held Monday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
