Obituary for Dean "DJ" U. Royston Jr.
Dean “DJ” Royston Jr. – Age 33, husband of Shauna H. (Murphy) Royston died unexpectedly Saturday at their home in Raymond, NH.
He was born in Winchester, January 26, 1989, a son of Dean U. Royston of Billerica and Joyce Lothian of Billerica and was raised in Billerica before moving to Raymond two years ago.
DJ graduated from Billerica Memorial High School class of 2007 and later attended UMass Amherst. He served on the Berklee College of Music Police Department for three years and was recently hired on the West Newbury Police Department. He was also a member of the Billerica Auxiliary Police for nine years.
Besides his wife and parents, DJ is survived by his daughter, Natalie Royston; his brother, Adam Royston and his wife Jordan of Merrimack, NH and their children, Isabella and Delilah and his grandmother, Gwendolyn Hadden of Gloucester.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Thursday at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in DJ’s name to Mass Eye and Ear, www.masseyeandear.org/makeagift.
