
David J. Nugent Sr., age 79, beloved husband of the late Diann (Barbera) Nugent died Tuesday at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Melrose, November 22, 1945 a son of the late Francis M. Sr. and Winifred (Leary) Nugent and lived in Malden before moving to Billerica in 1977.
David proudly service in the US Army during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of SGT then went on to a long career as a truck driver with Teamsters Local #25 driving for Plymouth Rock, AMA and North Penn.
After retiring he joined the team at R&D Exhaust in Billerica where he spent a lot of time working on his pride and joy a 1970 Chevy Chevelle and considered everyone there part of his family.
He is survived by two sons, David J. Nugent Jr. of Billerica and Michael Nugent and his fiancé Keri Clendening of Wilmington; two daughters, Kimberly Kierstead and her husband Michael of Salem, NH and Michele Nugent of Nashua, NH; three sisters, Kathy Martell and Susan Nugent both of Malden and Louise Marino of CA as well as nine grandchildren and many friends. He was the brother of the late Francis M. Nugent Jr.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4pm to 7pm. His funeral will begin Friday at the funeral home at 11am followed by a Graveside Service with Military Honors at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 12 noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
