Obituary for David C. Maher
David C. Maher, age 72, beloved husband of the late Joan M. (Nelson) Maher, died unexpectedly Friday at his home. He was born in Malden, June 20, 1941, a son of the late Joseph G. and Ruth M. (O’Connor) Maher and lived in Malden before moving to Billerica 47 years ago. Mr. Maher was the founder and owner of Precision Coachworks, a manufacturer of reproduction parts for vintage vehicles, specializing in Jeep Willy’s parts. Mr. Maher was a regular at all of the local antique car shows. He loved to work in his garage and was always happy to fix things for anyone needing help. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Maher and her companion Mike McCravy of Billerica; his son, Steven Maher of Lawrence; one sister, Joanie Winn and her husband Dan of Lowell; one brother, Thomas Maher and his wife Mary of Wakefield; his three grandchildren, Andrew Hughes, Brenden and Michela Spicer as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday in the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
