Daniel J. DeBenedictis, age 98, died peacefully Sunday April 5, 2026 at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Medford, May 31, 1927 a son of the late Carmine and Theresa (Robbio) DeBenedictis and lived in Greenbelt, MD before moving back to Billerica 15 years ago.
Daniel served in the US Navy during WW II then went onto a career with Xerox as an engineer. His greatest joy came from writing and reciting poetry.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Vincent, Anthony, Angelo, and Peter DeBenedictis, Agnes Spinney and Pauline deDiego as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Carmine Jr. Lawrence Sr. and Paul DeBenedictis, Anna Mason and Caroline Vitale.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 10 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Followed by a Graveside Service at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
