Obituary for Clifford "Ted" Critch

Clifford “Ted” Norman Critch – age 101, beloved husband of Laura “Phyllis” (Rose) Critch died peacefully Saturday, January 24 at Brightview at Concord River in Billerica with his family at his side.


He was born in Sidney, Nova Scotia, Canada, January 30, 1924, a son of the late Arnold Critch and Annie (Snow) Critch and was raised in Chelsea, before moving to Revere and then to Billerica in 2001. Ted proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II.


Ted was employed as a Truck Driver for Local 25 for 32 years before his retirement. He was an active member of the Aleppo Shriner’s in Wilmington and a member of the Star of Bethlehem Lodge AF & AM in Wakefield.


Ted in survived by his children, Clifford Arnold Critch and his wife Janis of Billerica and Norma Jane Hester of Moultonborough, NH; his grandchildren, Jennifer Spear and her husband Robert and Matthew Critch and his wife Jaime and his great grandchildren, Brian, Dakota, Kyle and Colin. He was also fond of his step-grandchildren Anastasia and her son Hunter and Cassidy and her son Kyrie.


He was the father of the late Nancy Jean Bender and step brother of the late Melvin Jaynes and Phyllis Wells.


A visitation will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Critch on Friday, January 30 from 3-6 p.m. with a Masonic service to be held at 5:15 p.m followed by a funeral service. Following the service a collation will be served at Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Rd., Wilmington, MA 01867.
