Claude Jean Corriveau – age 89, beloved husband of Ellen C. Crowley died peacefully Monday, March 25th at their home with his family by his side.
He was born in St. Vallier, Quebec, Canada, January 7, 1935, a son of the late Aurèle and the late Éliane (Bernier) Corriveau. He was raised in Canada where he served in the Royal Canadian AirForce. He later moved to Brookline where he met and married his beautiful wife, and moved to Billerica 55 years ago where they raised their family.
Claude was a mechanic by trade before being employed as a Tanker Driver for Exxon for 35 years where he retired at the age of 59. Claude's favorite past times were puttering in his yard, listening to Irish music, and watching his favorite sport, hockey, especially the Montreal Canadians. You could always find Claude at all of his grandkids sporting events or activities. His love for his wife and his family was endless.
In addition to his loving wife of 65 years, he is survived by his daughters, Terri Pomerleau and her husband Mike of Litchfield, NH, Denyse Baj and her husband David of Leominster and Pamela Hadley and her husband Richard of Billerica. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Justin, Sean, Geoffrey, Michelle, Andrew, Trevor, Ethan and Claudia. Also, his sister Denise of Canada and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son John Claude and his grandson Jason. He was the brother of the late Jean-Yves, Benoit, Guy, and Lise.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org
