Charles F. Holbrook – Age 91, beloved husband of Cheryl (Burroughs) Holbrook died peacefully Wednesday at their home, with his family at his side.
He was born January 3, 1931, a son of the late Charles Warren Lincoln and Hattie Mabel (Levangie) Holbrook. Charlie grew up in Weymouth and lived in Norwell, Brockton and West Bridgewater before moving to Billerica 36 years ago. Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.
Charlie was employed by Draper Laboratory as an Instrument Maker for 31 years prior to his retirement and later worked part-time at the O’Connor Hardware Store in Billerica for 19 years. He was a Call Firefighter for the town of Norwell and the town of West Bridgewater, and also served as an EMT-BASIC for Armstrong Ambulance. Charlie was a skilled woodworker as well and in his later years, enjoyed making toys. Charlie was a member of the Middlesex RC Flyers. He loved flying radio-controlled model airplanes, making furniture and bird houses, listening to country music, and gathering with friends at Donna's Donuts.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathy Drebaum and her husband Don of Methuen; Patty Monteiro and her husband Paul of Ipswich; Sandy Peterson and her husband Jeff of West Bridgewater; John Holbrook of Reading; and his stepdaughter Marianne Rivers and her husband Joe of Brockton. Charlie is also survived by his ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Melissa Peterson.
A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 81 Elm St., Concord, MA at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023. The Service will be followed by burial in the Church Memorial Garden and a reception in the Parish Hall. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Forgotten Angels Shelter, P.O. Box 112, Westford, MA 01886.
