Obituary for Charles E. Ellis Jr.
BILLERICA- Charles E. Ellis Jr. Age 83, beloved husband of Diane (Bennett) Ellis died Wednesday, January 1 at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus. He was born in Biddeford, ME on November 6, 1930 a son of the late Charles E. Ellis, Sr. and Ida (Harmon) and had lived in Boston before moving to Billerica in 1962. Mr. Ellis proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in December of 1949. Mr. Ellis was a Union Bill Board Poster with Donnelly Advertising & Ackerley Communications for 40 years until his retirement. He had a love for animals and enjoyed bowling in numerous leagues. He was also a sportsman & enjoyed hunting & fishing. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to gardening season. What made all the hard work worthwhile was sharing his bounty with family, friends & neighbors. Charlie was also an avid reader. Mr. Ellis was a selfless neighbor & was always there to help someone in need. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Ellis and his wife Paula of Billerica and John and Lauren Ellis of Groton; two daughters, Leslie Rodgers and her husband George of Tewksbury and Lynne McDonald and her husband Frank of Chelmsford; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late George Ellis, Richard Smith, Frank Smith, Dorothy Smith and grandfather of the late Brandon McDonald. The family would also like to give their heartfelt thanks to Donna Bijeol for being a great friend and neighbor. ELLIS- Of Billerica, Jan. 1, Charles E. Ellis, Jr. A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472. Interment at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
