Obituary for Charles E. 'Chickie' Rogers
Charles E. “Chickie” Rogers, age 85, beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Sullivan) Rogers died Tuesday at Woburn Nursing Center with his family at his side. He was born in Lowell, March 15, 1929 a son of the late Forest and Frances M. (Carlson) Rogers and was a life long Billerica resident. Mr. Rogers served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a heavy equipment operator for Arakalian and Jones for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Patti Chenevert of Reading and Marybeth Guimond and her husband Paul of Lowell; one brother, Forest Rogers of Beverly; four grandchildren, Lori Russo and her husband Jason, Meghan and Kelsey Chenevert and Brian Guimond and two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Nicholas Russo. He was the father of the late Brian and James Rogers and brother of the late Jack and Richard Rogers and Frances Sparks. ROGERS – Of Billerica, Jan. 20, Charles E. “Chickie” Rogers. Funeral Saturday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
