Obituary for Catherine M. Hopkins
Catherine M. Hopkins – Age 86, beloved wife of Alfred F. Hopkins to whom she was married to for 60 years died Wednesday at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her family She was born in Easthampton, September 18, 1925, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Hourihan) Messier and lived in Miami before moving to Billerica in 1962. Mrs. Hopkins loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was a member of the Billerica Garden Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Hopkins of Billerica; her sons, Thomas Hopkins and his wife Ruth Whitall of Shrewsbury, Michael Hopkins and his wife Linda of Billerica, James Hopkins and his companion Marion Deschenes of Mason, NH and Paul Hopkins of Billerica; her sister, Mary Lynch of MD and is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hopkins was the mother of the late Karen Hopkins, great grandmother of the late Robert Hopkins and sister of the late George and Daniel Messier. HOPKINS – Of Billerica, Aug. 8, Catherine M. (Messier) Hopkins, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
