Obituary for Catherine L. "Kay" Torre
BILLERICA – Catherine L. “Kay” (Livingston) Torre, age 100, beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Torre died Saturday at the Palm Center in Chelmsford.
She was born in Cambridge, October 25, 1917 a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Bridget M. (McCluskey) Livingston and lived in Cambridge before moving to Billerica in the 1930’s
Mrs. Torre was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School and the former Lowell Teachers College, now the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, with a Bachelor of Science in Education and later received her Master’s Degree from Salem State.
She was a teacher at several elementary schools in Billerica and was the Principal at former Howe and Pollard Schools in Billerica and moved to the Kennedy School when it first opened where she retired.
Mrs. Torre was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Billerica where she was a member of the Women’s Club and St. Vincent de Paul and was also a member of the Retired Educators Assn. of MA, the University of Lowell Alumni, the Billerica Historical Society and the retired State, County and Municipal Employees Assn. of MA.
She is survived by her son Joseph Torre and his wife Elizabeth of Wilton, NH and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Stephen J. Torre and sister of the late George and Andrew Livingston and Mary Brennan.

Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 3 – 6 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
