Carole A. (Sheerin) Kemp, age 87, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Kemp died Friday, July 26, at Brightview Concord River with her family by her side after a period of declining health.
She was born in Arlington, December 20, 1936 a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Donahue) Sheerin and lived in Arlington before moving to Billerica in 1956.
Prior to retirement, Carole worked for the former New England Nuclear renamed DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Co. in Billerica for 30+ years; luckily her employment was local so during bad snowstorms she would drive her snowmobile! She was a former Eucharistic Minister at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish - St. Theresa Church in Billerica. She enjoyed traveling internationally to many different countries. She especially enjoyed traveling with family to Naples & Friendship, ME. Carole was an avid “Boston” sports fan enjoying the Red Sox, Patriots & of course the Bruins. Although she was never a “master”, in her spare time she was entertained with many DIY home projects. Carole was an avid reader, gardener, & enjoyed bird watching. She loved preparing holiday dinners & decorating for all the holidays (Xmas nativity & village) and birthdays! Carole spent a lot of time watching her grandchildren at the soccer fields, baseball fields & hockey rinks. Memories from her children & grandchildren include picking blueberries in her backyard, fishing down at the pond, “yelling at the tv”, playing card games (war & go fish), attending sporting events, scratching lottery tickets, “where’s that flea bag”, frozen Oreos, Twizzlers, “no hats at the table”, “who’s there”, “what channel is the game on”, going to the car races (#57), playing Bingo @80 years old, & walking in the rain, will be cherished forever & never forgotten.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura Anderson (Jerry Cossette) of Groton; Cheryl Beecher ( Brian) of Billerica; one son, Ray Anderson (Patsy) of Mt. Vernon, NH; and is also survived by her four grandchildren, Ray, Dylan, Justin and Mason as well as two great-grandchildren, Emma and Connor.
The family would like to offer our gratitude and thanks to the caring staff of Brightview Concord River.
It being her wish all services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Parkinson’s Foundation (https://www.parkinson.org/how-to-help) or to the charity of your choice.
