Obituary for Carol E. Ryan
BILLERICA – Carol E. (Doris) Ryan, age 71, beloved wife of William L. Ryan Jr., died Friday at their home surrounded by her family. She was born in Boston, December 18, 1942 a daughter of the late John E. and Alice (Wilmot) Doris and grew up in Charlestown before moving Everett, Falmouth and most recently Billerica. Mrs. Ryan was very involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Boston, was a teller for Bank of America before her retirement but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Maureen Ray and her husband Michael of Billerica; two sons, William Ryan III. and his wife Rose and John Ryan and his wife Jess all of Tewksbury. Six grandchildren, Shawn and Michaela Ray and Samantha, Jake, Grace and Emma Ryan; as well as her brothers and sisters, of Joan Tiernan of Somerville, John Doris of Pocasset, Ellen O’Rourke, Kathleen Thornton, and Brenda Dowd all of Charlestown, Stephen Doris of Falmouth, Dennis Doris of Saugus, Kevin Doris of Brockton and the late Donald Doris, Brian Doris and Maureen Krueger. Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Middlesex East, 607 North Ave., STE 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
