
Obituary for Carol A. O'Brien
Carol A. (Larsen) O’Brien, age 82, beloved wife of the late Ronald J. O’Brien died Sunday at The Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Woodstock, IL February 7, 1939 a daughter of the late Roy F. and Gertrude E. (Voss) Larsen. Carol lived in Chicago, Bronx, NY and White Plains, NY before becoming a longtime Billerica resident.
Carol attended Bunker Hill Community College where she earned her degree in Respiratory Therapy and went on to work at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell as well as the former Saints Medical Center in Lowell.
Until her illness she was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Savior in Bedford. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling with her husband as well as time at their home in Pittsburg, NH. It brought her joy to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Carol is survived by two daughters, Anne Soucy and her husband George of Rutland, MA and Kathleen Simmons and her husband Peter of Medway; one son, Tim O’Brien and his wife Suzanne of New Boston, NH as well as seven grandchildren: Benjamin, Drew and Jameson O’Brien, Caroline and Michael Soucy and Lile and Ellie Simmons. She was the sister of the late Dr. William Roy Larsen.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Savior, 426 Davis Rd., Bedford at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
