Obituary for Carmella E. Casey

Carmella E. (Dellorfano) Casey, age 79, beloved wife of Edward P. Casey Sr., died Monday, May 26 at her sister’s home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness.


She was born in Boston February 13, 1946 a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Ranelli) Dellorfano and lived in E. Boston before moving to Lexington over 50 years ago.


Carmella was employed as a chef for the Lexington School System and was a parishioner and member of the Women’s Club at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church in Billerica.


Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Edward Casey Jr. of Lexington; one sister Ann Doherty of Billerica as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John Casey and sister of the late Michael H. Dellorfano and Joanne Iovanna Miller.


Visiting hours will be held Sunday, June 1, at the Sweeny Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 1 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 2, at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, E. Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish, One Grace Ave. Billerica, MA 01821
