Bryan J. DeMone – Age 64, died peacefully Saturday, February 17, one day shy of his 65th birthday, surrounded by his loving family at Lahey Hospital after complications from pneumonia.
He was born in Woburn, February 18, 1959 a son of the late Norman and the late Greta (Anderson) DeMone.
Bryan was a self-employed contractor in the Burlington area where he built many homes, constructed additions and specialized in finish carpentry. He resided in a house that was in his family for generations and he used his carpentry skills to make it a home for his family. Bryan was a self-taught finish carpenter of 45 years. He started out working with his father, then for R. Connors, before being partners in two other companies and then finally going out on his own and developing DeMone Construction. Bryan strived for excellence and prided himself in his high quality work.
Aside from work, Bryan loved to spend time in his vegetable garden where he would grow tomatoes and cucumbers of which he would can and give to his family and friends. He enjoyed going on vacation in the White Mountains every summer, fishing, cooking, sitting on his deck in the sun, and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas. You could also find Bryan playing cards or pool at The Burlington American Legion, where he was a member.
Bryan is survived by his children, Jenna Massa and her husband Phillip of Merrimack, NH and Derrik DeMone of Nashua, NH; his wife of 36 years, Karen (Miller) DeMone, his brother, Douglas DeMone of Burlington; his sisters, Linda Thellen and her husband Dick of Berlin, NH; Jodi Smith of Nashua, NH, and the late Lisa DeMone; his beloved grandchildren, Brody and Hallie Massa, and his niece and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 23 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Bryan’s name to the Newhouse Wildlife Rescue in Chelmsford, MA.
