Obituary for Blanche J. Pelland
Blanche J. Pelland - Age 94, wife of the late Phillip J. Pelland died Saturday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in N. Billerica.
She was born in Lowell, August 21, 1914, the daughter of the late Jan and Katherine Salwa and lived in Lowell for many years before moving to Billerica four years ago.
Mrs. Pelland is survived by her son, Phillip Pelland and his wife Lauren of Nashua, NH, her son-in-law, Kenneth Mathews of Billerica; 4 grandchildren, Kenneth Mathews II and his wife Leanne of Chelmsford, Phillip Pelland and his fianc Jennifer Kelley of Nashua, NH, Timothy Mathews of Billerica and Catherine Cox and her husband Joseph of Dracut; 2 great grandchildren, Victoria and Nicholas Mathews of Chelmsford. Mrs. Pelland was the mother of the late Brenda Mathews who died on July 31. She is also survived by several nieces, especially Maryann Carroll of Lowell and several nephews.
Mrs. Pelland was the sister of the late Joseph, Stanley, John, Mary and Rose Salwa, Pauline Pizzo, Helen Norton, Stephanie Walsh and Jennie Sawlan.
PELLAND - Of Billerica, formerly of Lowell, Aug. 8, Blanche J. (Salwa) Pelland wife of the late Phillip J. Pelland. Funeral Wednesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, E. Chelmsford.
