Obituary for Bertha A. Carr
Bertha A. Carr - Age 89, wife of the late William E. Carr died Saturday at the Lowell General Hospital.
She was born in Lexington, February 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Ernest and Emmy (Hanson) Anderson and lived in Lexington for many years before moving to Billerica in 1953. As a young woman during WW II she worked for Raytheon as a technician and then married her husband when he returned from the war. She later worked as a nurse's aide for several years at Lowell General Hospital and as a housekeeper for Travel Lodge Hotels. Her last and favorite job was for Microwave Associates where she worked as a technician for many years before retiring.
Bertha led an active life until very recently. She loved her crafts, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She loved to shop and decorate her home with items she purchased. She was a wonderful cook. Bertha was loved very much and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Robert Carr of Billerica; her daughters, Cynthia Lamb of Spring Creek, NV and Pamela Roberts of Las Vegas, NV and her grandchildren, Brenton Carr of Stoughton and Justin Roberts of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Nils, Ernest Anderson and Natalie Jackson.
CARR - Of Billerica, July 9, Bertha A. Carr, Visiting hours will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
