Obituary for Barbara E. McGonagle
Barbara E. (Thurston) McGonagle, age 87, beloved wife of Arthur F. McGonagle died Sunday at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Exeter, NH a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Tapscott) Thurston and lived in Stoneham before moving to Billerica in 1966.
Barbara was employed by Jordan Marsh, Macy’s and Filenes as a Fine Jewelry Manager.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons Steven McGonagle and his wife Ann of Billerica, Gary McGonagle and his wife Susan of Temple, NH and Fr. Douglas McGonagle of Greenfield as well as three grandchildren, Katherine, Samantha and Colleen. She was the mother of the late Kevin McGonagle.
Visitation will be held at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica Friday from 9:00 – 10:00 with a Funeral Mass to be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Andrew’s Church, 45 Talbot Ave. Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
