Obituary for Arthur 'Bud' F. McCaffrey
Arthur “Bud” F. McCaffrey – Age 82, husband of the late Marilyn A. (Ford) McCaffrey died Monday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley surrounded by his family. He was born in Boston, June 18, 1932, a son of the late Arthur N. and Mary (Christensen) McCaffrey and lived in Billerica all of his life. Mr. McCaffrey served in the Army as a Corporal during the Korean War in Misawa, Japan supporting air missions to Korea. He was employed by the Town of Billerica, first as a Call Firefighter and later became fulltime in 1958. He was the department training officer and also acted as Deputy Chief and later retired as a Captain in 1994. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks #2071 and enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley for all the care they had given Bud during his time there. Mr. McCaffrey is survived by his daughter, Bev Silva and her husband Joe of Billerica; his son, Joseph McCaffrey and his wife Linda of Wakefield; his sisters-in-law, Barbara (Sullivan) McCaffrey and Mary (Trank) McCaffrey of Billerica and his brother-in-law, Bob Gibson of NH and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late baby Franklin McCaffrey and brother of the late Gertrude McCaffrey, Myrna Gibson, Frank “Mac” McCaffrey and Donald “Mac” McCaffrey. McCaffrey – Of Billerica, Nov. 17, Arthur “Bud” F. McCaffrey, Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Billerica Food Pantry, 365 Boston Rd., Billerica, MA 01821.
